Hedge Trimming in Albany
A lot of Albany’s newer homes went in with griselinia, pittosporum or lillypilly hedges for privacy. They grow fast in Auckland’s mild climate, and after a couple of years they’re over the fence line and blocking light.
We trim them back to straight sides and a level top, a little narrower at the top than the base so the lower leaves keep getting sun. Most hedges do well with two or three trims a year, usually late spring, late summer and sometimes autumn. If yours has got away on you, we can bring it back down in stages so it doesn’t end up bare.
